Are you thinking of installing photovoltaic (PV) solar panels? At Energy Unleashed, we design and manage the installation process of high-powered solar cells to convert sunlight into electricity to power your entire home. Take back control of your electricity and reduce overall energy costs by installing PV solar panels.

How Does The Process Work?

PV solar cells are usually made from silicon (a nonmetal semiconductor that we use in essentially every computer). When light strikes the silicon, it releases electrons, which create an electric current. From here, the metal frames and wires of the solar panel help to capture the flow of electrons and generate the energy to power your home.

The energy that solar panels produce is called direct current (DC) power, and the energy that comes from your electric utility is called alternating current (AC) power. For the solar panels to provide power to your home, the DC power produced by the panels must be converted to direct current through an inverter.

Once it is connected to an inverter, the clean energy from the sun replaces the power from the electric grid. By using this clean energy process, you are eliminating the use of non-renewable fossil fuels that typically fuel the electricity you get from your local electric utility.

  • A glass casing: Glass helps to protect silicon PV cells from harsh elements, such as dirt, rain, snow, and hail.

  • An insulation layer: found under the glass casing, an insulation layer is used to protect the panel from humidity (which can affect the performance of the panels).

  • An anti-reflective coating: a special coating is used to help your solar panel absorb the maximum amount of sunshine needed to power the cells.

FAQs

Yes, solar panels can generate enough electricity to power an entire home under typical energy usage. The experts at Energy Unleashed will analyze your historical energy consumption and design a system to meet your needs. Your panels need to be installed in such a manner that your system will absorb the most energy from the sun. Energy Unleashed has the knowledge and experience to design your solar energy system to work most efficiently in your particular home.

While some electricity may be generated with an alternative light source, in general, you are going to need sunlight to power the cells. With Net Metering, excess energy your system produces during the day can be sent to the grid, and that acts as a credit for electricity you might draw back from the grid when the panels are not producing power. We can also design and install solar battery storage, which will help you to store excess electricity throughout the day for use at night or when sunlight is not optimal, such as on a very cloudy or rainy day.

Yes, we offer 25-year product, production, and workmanship warranties and proven results. Our products are reliable as we use only top-quality panels and professional installers to get the job done right.
